Kaiden's Trout (April 2, 2022) . . .

Kaiden went trout fishing a few weeks ago (when doesn't he go fishing - ha ha!).  He was happy with his catches, but he was most happy with his palomino!  Good job, bud!

Trout Fishing!

Trout unexpectedly started on Tuesday (because, what hasn't changed because of the corona virus).  We scrambled to find a fishing hole, and ended up going to Indiantown Run.  Kaiden caught about 15 small ones and lost 2 nice, big ones.  Although we didn't get any keepers, we had a great afternoon.  He thinks Kiersen has to be interested in fishing the way he is, but she just doesn't have the same attention span he does.  Once she catches one she moves on to climbing on rocks and logs instead.

Trout Fishing & Spring by Kiersen Olivia ...

Trout fishing started this week, so we spent lots of time at streams and lakes.  On this particular trip we were at Sweet Arrow Lake.  Kaiden didn't catch any fish, but Kiersen still wanted to take pictures.  I think she did a pretty good job for her first time with the camera.  Now I can't get her to put the camera down!  She loves it and wants to 'photo shoot' everything and every one!

Always Fishing . . .

Yesterday Kenny took the kids fishing.  They fished all afternoon and caught some really pretty trout.  They both even caught palominos!  After they got home and we took some photos, Kenny and Kaiden grabbed their filet knives to get the fish ready to put in the freezer.  Kiersen wanted her own knife to filet her fish, and when Kenny told her she was too little, she was not too happy!

Trout Fishing at Indiantown Run . . .

I took Kaiden trout fishing at Indiantown Run this week.  He got a fish with his very first cast!  Kiersen wasn't so excited to go, even though I told her it would be so pretty there.  It took her about 15 minutes to get over not wanting to be there until she started to have fun.  Kaiden's always happy when he's fishing.  On our way home he told me 'I caught him, I'm going to clean him, and I'm going to eat him'.  And that's just what he did!

First Day of Trout 2019 . . .

Saturday was the first official day of trout season.  Kenny had to work, so I took the kiddos out by myself.  Well - I guess I should say that I took Kaiden out fishing.  Kiersen had little to no interest and spent the day climbing on things, doing cartwheels and running around.  Kaiden only ended up catching one fish (and a bass that he had to throw back), but we still had a really nice day together.

Youth Trout Day 2019 . . .

Yesterday after Kenny got home from work we took the kids fishing for Mentored Youth Day.  Kaiden was so excited about going - it's all he could talk about for a week straight!  They were allowed to catch 2 fish each, and that's what they both did.  Kiersen wasn't too happy about keeping the fish and decided to let hers swim free (there's my girl), but she sobbed when Kaiden told her he was keeping his because she didn't want the fish to die.  It was a cold evening because of the wind blowing across the lake, but we all had a nice time.
