This afternoon the kids asked if they could play with the kinetic sand. They were playing nicely, so I decided it would be a good time to go back into my computer room and research range hoods for the new stove I'm ordering tomorrow. When I came out to check on them I saw they had some sand on the kitchen floor, but it really wasn't a big deal, since it cleans up so easily. I even snapped a quick picture of them (see first photo). Well....fast forward another 10 minutes and I could not believe my eyes when I went to go check on them again. They decided it would be fun to have a snowball fight with the sand! They had sand all over the kitchen (including under every appliance, on the countertops, and in the slots of the toaster), and all over the living room (including the carpeting, fireplace, window sills, bean bag chair and sofa). But they didn't stop there, they also had it drug down my hallway and in the bathroom! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry! An hour later the mess is finally cleaned up. All I can say is....(1) I'm so thankful it wasn't playdough, and (2) it will be a long time until this momma will say yes when they ask to play with sand again!
