Kaiden's 'School' Pictures . . .

We don't get school pictures because the kids always come home with a fake smile.  But....give Kade a bow (or a gun....or a fishing rod...or a football), and he's all smiles!

Pear Thief . . .

 

We have a pear tree that gave us tons of pears this year.  RJ knows about the pear tree, so every time we go outside he disappears for a few minutes and comes back with a pear.  

RJ Gets Funnel Cake . . .

Kaiden loves funnel cake, but he also loves his pup.  One look with those 'puppy eyes' and he caved and RJ got to try some funnel cake.

Crazy, Windy Fishing Day. . .

 

Well the pictures don't show it, but Kaiden talked me into taking him fishing on the most windy and cold day of fall!  I was freezing, but seeing his smile when he caught his fish made it worth it. 

Back Handspring on Low Beam . . . .

This week Kiersen did a back handspring on the low beam by herself for the first time.  I think you can tell by her smile that she's happy.

Kaiden's Fumble Recovery . . .

On Sunday it was a mess at the football game because it was raining so hard.  I decided not to take my camera because I didn't want it to get wet (bad choice).  Kaiden ended up having a great game, so I missed a lot of tackles and other good things.  The photo I wish I had more than any other is when he recovered this particular fumble.  My friend captured this picture of him with the ball in his hand, but right before this picture was taken, Kaiden stood up out of the pile with a huge smile on his face, looked directly up to the stands at Kenny, and waved the ball in the air like 'look daddy - I did it'.  He was so pumped up after that fumble, and his team won their first game all season!

A Pumpkin for Sissy . . .

On Saturday Kaiden decided to help Kiersen by carving out her tiny pumpkin after she drew the face on it.  I think he did great - especially because it was so tiny.  She was thrilled!

Press Handstand!

This skill may look like a simple skill, but it takes a lot of strength to complete.  Kiersen has been working so hard on this since she started with the Aerial's in June, and she just recently got it.  She's so excited!

Cheer Clinic 2019 . . .

Kiersen attended the cheer clinic with the Varsity Cheerleaders again this year.  They learned a cheer, chant and dance routine and then had a showcase for the parents.  This is the chant they learned. 

Muscle Monday Winner . . .

This award goes back to August, but she only actually received her paper copy in September.   She got the Muscle Monday award for doing 51 chin up pullovers.  I still can't believe she did that many!

Kayaking . . .

On Saturday my brother had a pig roast at his house which is by the Swatty.  I couldn't get Kaiden out of the water - first it was crawfish catching, next it was fishing and finally it was kayaking.  He was one happy kid!

Mis-Match Day!

Last week was Homecoming Week at Pine Grove.  The elementary school did a theme week, and on Tuesday it was mis-match day.  Oh boy!  I think the pictures tell everything!  Yikes!  Actually, the pictures are pretty blurry too, maybe they just couldn't focus on all those crazy patterns and colors!

PS - The middle school also did some less-crazy things last week, but Kaiden had zero interest in dressing in certain colors, etc.  Everything changes when you get to Middle School!

Brooklynn Gets Her Ears Pierced . . .

Look close!  Kiersen and Kenny pierced Brooklynn's ears.  Kiersen has been wanting her to have earrings since Christmas and now she finally has them!
