Fishing - March, April, May . . .

Kade loves fishing, and I love taking him fishing.  I am especially enjoying catfishing with him this year.  Kiersen has gone fishing with us twice this spring - the first time she lasted about 10 minutes and hadn't caught anything so she was done, and the second time (catfishing), she wasn't interested and ended up going to sleep on her chair.  Kade has two big fishing trips that he's looking forward to this year - the Outer Banks with Uncle Kevvers and the Buttonwood trip with his friend Riley.  Something tells me it's going to be a fishing kind of summer (oh wait . . . isn't it always a fishing kind of summer . . . ha ha).

Youth Trout Day 2022 (March 26, 2022) . . .

Last Saturday was youth trout season.  Kenny took the kids to the Rock Stream to fish with their friends Jeff, Kyran and Karson.  There are lots of photos here of Kiersen, but trust me when I say that Kade was there too, he just didn't take the time to take an photos (other than the last photo shown here).  They caught and released over 30 fish!

Fishing at Indian Town Run . . .

Over Easter break I took the kids trout fishing at Indiantown Run.  Kaiden spent two hours there happily fishing, while Kiersen spent to hours there happily doing cartwheels and turns on every downed tree and posing for pictures on my cell phone.  She wanted little to do with fishing, but was SO happy and proud when Kaiden let her carry out his stringer of fish he had caught.  She held out those fish for all the other fishermen to see and every car that passed she had to stop and show off 'her' fish.  Cars were beeping and slowing down just so they could smile at the proud little girl who 'caught all the fish'.  Kaiden really melted my heart that day.  I'm sure he would have loved to be the one carrying those fish down the road, but he gave that up so he could see the smile on her face.

Trout Fishing . . .

This year trout fishing was a bit of a let down for Kenny and Kaiden because of the shutdown and how they stocked waters.  These photos were taken in early June after they went fishing and only caught one fish.  I can't remember a time they've only caught one trout!

Kaiden & Daddy - Lots of Fish!

Over the weekend, the boys went fishing and caught nine trout!  Kaiden was so happy!  I have to laugh at him a little though . . . if I make fish for dinner he complains that he doesn't like it, but if it's a fish he caught, suddenly it's delicious and the most amazing fish he's ever tasted!  Gotta love my little nature boy!
