Easter Egg Hunt...

(Kaiden showing daddy where the eggs are!)

(Racing daddy to the car....ready to open up all that candy!)

(Grandpa & Kaiden)

(My Three Amigos!)

(Kaiden told me he was 'helping grandpa get his eggs')

This afternoon Kenny, Kenny's dad and I took Kaiden to an Easter egg hunt at the church we just started attending. There weren't a lot of kids there, which was nice, because each kid got lots and lots of eggs. Next Easter tradition....egg coloring, which we will be attempting either tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be as messy as last year!

Introducing HuckleBee Hollow...

So....a lot of you have been asking me about the picture I posted a few weeks ago of the bee hive with the caption saying I've been a busy 'BEE' working on something new for the new year. I promised more information was on the way, and here it is....

I've decided to start my own business - HuckleBee Hollow.

Before I give you the details, I wanted to tell you how my business got it's name....

Early on I decided I would call the business Huckleberry Hollow. As I researched the name and it's rights, I quickly discovered that it had already been taken. In addition, every possible 'spin off' of that name was also taken. I was a little bummed and spent many weeks trying to think of something unique. Then one day Kaiden said 'what's you doing mommy - working on something for HuckleBee Hollow'....it was that moment that I realized my little guy had just named my business.

So what is HuckleBee Hollow? It's everything I love (made by me).....home fragrances, lotions & creams, sugar scrubs, linen sprays, body mists....and, of course, just a little bit of country prim!

I'm still in the early testing stages of my products, so it may be a few months until I'm ready to actually 'open', but I'm very excited because my ideas and hopes for this business are really starting to fall into place.

This business isn't just about my hopes and dreams though....it's about giving hope to people who may feel that there's no hope left in this world. This world has treated me well...I have a good, strong family, a job I enjoy and a place I can call home. It saddens me to think that there are people out there living on the streets in the cold and the heat just wondering where they're going to get their next meal. That's why I will be donating a portion of my sales to various local homeless shelters, because believe me, there are more homeless people out there than you and I can even imagine. Although my donations won't be huge, every little bit helps, and I'm excited to start making a difference. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to open a local homeless shelter...maybe I'll name it the 'Homeless HuckleBee'....I don't know what the future holds, but I do know one thing...I'm very excited about this new journey!

2-for-1 Special at Kaiden's Car Wash!

(Love, love, love this photo!)

Yesterday I stopped by Kaiden Carwash! You should really stop in too! He offers a 2-for-1 special.....he washes your car AND YOU!
(Giggles are a little extra, but well worth the money!)

Our Little Orchard...

(Remmy's contributions to the digging process...)

(Check out Kaiden's 'kid-friendly' digger!)

(Daddy - that hole is so big!)

My parents got us some fruit trees yesterday. They were technically an Easter gift, but now's the time to plant them, so we didn't wait. Planting trees in a 'rocky' mountain isn't easy (just ask Kenny and Kaiden). Kaiden loved every minute of the digging (of course) and was so happy just being outside with his daddy. Now we have 2 pear trees, 2 peaches and 4 apples...not quite orchard status, but we're getting there. I know it'll take a few years until these little trees produce fruit, but I can't wait to be able to go outside and pick a fresh, juicy peach from my side yard! YUM!

Our Monday Evening Project...

(The 'after' photo)

(The 'before' photo)

(He was trying to show me how he could break this piece of wood....but, that piece of wood is from our cabinet!)

I've been wanting a new faucet for my bathroom, and I finally decided on one....so, Kaiden (with just a little help from Kenny) installed it for me tonight. I like the finished look a lot.

Next up - some rustic drawer pulls (and a new shower curtain, flooring, fresh paint and towel bars....okay, okay, that may take a while).

Kaiden Says: I Want Baby...

Kaiden will sometimes get toy books in the mail. He likes to sit on the Kitchen floor and circle the things he wants. Today we got a few catalogs, and while I was packing up the lunches for tomorrow he asked for a crayon so he could 'circle things'. I gave him his crayon and went back to the lunches. When I was finished I turned around and asked him what he'd found....with a big smile on his face he said 'baby....Kaiden wants this baby....he's got little tongue and cute pants'. Needless to say, this catalog was left at Kenny's spot on the dinner table....hint, hint Kenny!

Tigger Gets a Broken Tail!

Kaiden has this huge Tigger that is almost as big as he is (okay - maybe it is as big as he is). At the base of his tail the stuffing is coming out a bit. Although Kaiden typically notices every little detail about every little thing, he never has really seemed to notice Tigger's 'defective' tail. Today he was playing with him and decided he should take him for a ride on his truck. All was going well until Kaiden made a sharp right turn and dumped Tigger off the side. It was then that he realized Tigger was 'broken'....he was so upset that Tigger's tail got 'broken' in the 'truck accident'. So tell me - what's a mom to do in this situation?!!?! Most moms would probably get out a needle and thread, but not this mom - I thought of a slightly easier 'fix'.....Tigger got an ace bandage! He looks a little funny now, but Kaiden's happy and so am I!
