Today I was doing some housework and decided to take a break to check my e-mail. As I sat down at the computer, Kiersen asked if she could have a banana. (A refreshing break from the candy she's typically asking for - ha ha). About 5 minutes later, I noticed that things seemed kinda quiet (a sure sign someone's up to no good), so I went out into the kitchen and found the kids putting 'banana bread' into the microwave to 'cook (hey, at least they didn't try using the oven, right?) It was one of those moments as a parent when you look at your kitchen, all the ingredients they used and the mess and feel a bit of anger, but then you look at their happy faces and hear them talking about making daddy his favorite bread and wanting to 'sell it at the end of the driveway' and you just can't get mad. When they tasted it and realized it tasted like a piece of rubber they had a quick fix - we'll just put frosting on it! I like how they think! So here's to messy kitchens and fun memories!
