A Coke a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

Well if little Kaiden isn't going through my Kitchen cabinets to find the chicken noodle soup to carry around, he's snatching a Coke when we open the fridge!

I guess he's just trying to be like his daddy, who should've taken stocks in the Coca Cola Company!

At the Hunting Club with Daddy

Tonight Kaiden and I went with Kenny to his hunting club so he could 'fine tune' his bow for archery season which starts on Saturday. Kenny looks forward to archery all year long, so he was extremely focused - Kaiden and I, on the other hand, were having a blast playing in the rocks, riding on deer and buffalo and climbing on treestands!

I love watching Kenny with Kaiden.....you can almost see his excitement when Kaiden takes an interest anything to do with hunting/archery. I think before too long, Kaiden will be wanting to 'tag along' with daddy on his hunting excursions!

It'll all Come Out in the Wash, Mom

Okay, so yesterday I was emptying the dishwasher......that's right, the roasting pan from the turkey was clean again! Kaiden immediately spotted it as I pulled it out and wanted to crawl inside. The problem was that mommy was trying to multi-task again...unloading the dishwasher, packing lunches, folding wash and trying to feed Kaiden lunch. So I thought I'd let him crawl inside while I fed him the remainder of his yougret and put away dishes. Everything was working great until I accidentally dumped the yougret in the pan on top of him! WHAT A MESS! Lucky just minutes earlier I took his outfit off because he had gotten sweet potatoes on it. Kenny ended up carrying him (in the roasting pan) into the bathtub, where he proceeded to splash in the yougret and put it in his hair! (I have heard that yougret makes your hair shiny!)

Later that evening I saw that Kaiden had managed to get himself dirty again (after I got his clean PJ's on of course). As I was taking out a load of wash, he started trying to climb in the dryer....so I gave him a shove.....ha ha....I guess he was trying to tell me to "relax mom....it all comes out in the wash"!

Funny thing is.....today his Aunt Jessie forwarded me some photos....of Kaiden in the wash machine! Look what I've started - next thing you know he'll be climbing in the dishwasher!

What's for Dinner ~ Turkey?

I decided tonight I would cook a turkey for dinner, so I pulled out my roasting pan from the closet in the hallway and made my way towards the Kitchen. Kaiden was curious, as always, about what I was doing.

As I watched him running towards me I thought to myself "I wonder if he'd fit in here". He did...and the best part was, the pan made an excellent in-house sled too. (Who needs snow!) We played and played (and played and played and played) until dinner was about an hour later than I had originally planned!

Who else could make dinner so exciting?!!?! I love my little turkey!

'Flip-Floppin' Toys

Every couple of weeks I go through Kaiden's toy box and his toy chest and 'flip flop' toys. I do that because, at this point, Kaiden isn't tall enough to get into his toy box by himself, so without my help, the only toys he can get at are the ones in the chest. By switching out his toys he gets more of a variety, which keeps things interesting for him (and also keeps things neat/organized for me).

Today while I was 'flip floppin', Kaiden was acting like he wanted to crawl into his toy box, so I put him in it with a blanket. He loved it and kept clapping his hands and screeching! When I got him out, he started taking the toys before I could put them back in the toy box. I thought he was taking them into the living room to play with, but I was wrong....I caught him in the bathroom shoving them into the hamper (see photos 4 and 5 above).
