Kaiden's Driving Hat...

Can you believe I actually went out on Black Friday? No, not at 4 in the morning either! Kaiden and I went out on a mission of getting poinsettias and supplies for the giant gingerbread men we're going to be baking next weekend, but before I left I needed to make sure that everything was picked up, as Kaiden has this habit of pulling out everything and not putting it back. As I was getting cleaned up, I heard him go into his closet and get out his truck he likes to ride. When I turned around he was coming into the Living Room with the truck, and strangely enough, he had one of his winter hats on. I laughed because he looked adorable in it, and said, 'Kaiden Tyler, what are you doing wearing that hat....we'll wear that when we go away, okay'. His response was 'it's my driving hat silly mommy'. Sometimes I'm not sure where he comes up with these things!

Brushin' Teeth Like My Favorite Daddy

Getting Kaiden to brush his teeth has always been a struggle for us. Most times he just eats the toothpaste off the brush and tries to escape to go off and play before we can grab him. Suddenly he's taken on a new interest, however. He likes sitting on the sink to 'brush' his teeth. Actually, he likes sitting there so he can play in the water, but he's making some progress I guess....slow and steady, right?!?!? While he was brushing his teeth this morning he was saying 'brushin' teeth like my favorite daddy'. I think it's pretty cool that he looks up to Kenny so much; but, I really hope I'm his 'favorite' mommy too.....

One...Two...Three!

(one....)

(two....)

(three....)

....or as Kaiden would say it '1, 2, 1, 2'.....

Kenny and I always do silly things to teach Kaiden how to count. We count ice cubes, stairs, bubbles, (piggy) toes, M&M's, how many seconds mommy can walk on her hands or stand on her head....you get my point, if we can count it, we do! He does pretty good, but sometimes he just keeps counting '1, 2, 1, 2'....he'll get the hang of it soon, I'm sure!

This morning before we started to get ready for Thanksgiving dinner, Kenny was practicing counting with Kaiden by throwing him up into the air to the count of 3.

Oh the little things in life that make him so happy.....those little things make me happy too.

Thanksgiving 2009

(We had an unusual guest this year....no, I'm not talking about my dad either!)

(My Grandma and Great-Aunt Blanche....oh how they love getting thier pictures taken!)

(Mom after a LONG day!)

(My crazy uncle, Kevin)

(Kaiden & His Aunt Dell)

It's hard to believe that this was Kaiden's third Thanksgiving already! How can my baby be almost 2.5 years old already! It feels like just last year at Thanksgiving that Kenny and I made the announcement that we were expecting a little person, but that was Thanksgiving '06! Time really flies by doesn't it??!?!

This year was no different than Thanksgivings in the past...dinner for the Bouchette side at 2:00 p.m., followed by dinner for the Echternach side at 5:00 p.m. I started out with good intentions of taking lots and lots of photos (like I always do), but when we got to the Echternach Thanksgiving, there were so many little people running around it was almost overwhelming, so I failed to even get the camera out!!! Next year I'll do better!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Daddy's Socks

Kaiden has become quite the little helper around the house. One of his favorite things to do right now is to help me fold the laundry. Yesterday we were 'folding', and he disappeared for a while (which, by the way, is never a good sign). So I yelled 'Kaiden Tyler, where are you, and what are you doing'? His response: 'wearing daddy's socks'.

Whew....that was a whole lot better a response than what I expected....no cleanup involved (this time)!!!!

Kaiden - What Are You Watering?

(Looks like Remmy needed some watering too....)

On Monday afternoon Kaiden and I got on our jackets and hats and went outside to get the mail. He refused to go out without his watering can. When I asked him what he was going to water, his response was 'ground'. Not exactly sure why the ground would need any extra water - I feel as though it's been raining non-stop since September, but it made him happy to pretend.

Candylane 2009

(He was a little too small for these chairs, I guess....they kept flipping up on him)

(Unlce Rick tried to get Kaiden in the picture, but the antlers just kept on covering him up!)

(Kaiden with his licorice - now where do you think he got his licorice addiction from????)

(My brother Steve, and niece Carree)

(Mr. & Mrs. Clause - aka Grandma & PawPaw)

(Richy - how many days do you think it would take to eat that?)

Every year my family goes to Christmas Candylane in Hershey. It's fun for the kids (and the kids at heart too). We decided to go tonight so we could 'beat the rush' right before Christmas, and I'm glad we did because it wasn't so crowded (or cold).

Kaiden sat on Santa's lap for about 15 seconds and then promptly got down and ran back to Kenny (no pictures for my scrapbook this year, I guess). His favorite part of the evening was the show we went to. I think he danced more than the dancers on stage!

We all had a very nice evening!

Kaiden's 'Melmo' Stocking

I've been looking and looking for the perfect Christmas stocking for Kaiden, with no luck. Fortunately, my mom and dad found this 'Melmo' stocking; and, as you can see by Kaiden's face, he loved it! I have to say, it's pretty cute - it even sings! Thank you Grandma & PawPaw!
