Hickory Run Trip!

The kids' last day of school was on Thursday, so on Friday we headed to one of their favorite places to celebrate - Hickory Run State Park.  This was the first time that Kenny got to go, so the kids were really excited to be there.  It was a fantastic day, but the water was SO cold.  It didn't seem to bother Kaiden though.  When I asked him if he was cold, his response made me laugh - 'I don't have time to think about being cold right now, mommy.  I have one thing on my mind, and that's catching these tadpoles' . . . ha ha.

Hickory Run State Park . . .

Today I took the kids to Hickory Run State Park.  It's the first time I've really visited a state park, but it certainly won't be the last.  We had such a nice time at 'Boulder Fields' - the kids could've hopped around on those boulders all day.  It was truly something unique to see, and the pictures I took simply do not capture just how neat it really was.  Just as impressive as the boulders was the drive into the boulders, which was a one lane road cut through the forest.  It was so quiet and peaceful there.  We also went swimming at the 'beach' lake there, which was so much fun.  The kids kept telling me over and over how much they loved the trip.  Looks like Hickory Run will be a new favorite!
