Lawn Mowing - Kaiden Style

Kaiden thought it was time to mow the lawn today. Who needs a lawn mower when you have a pair of orange play dough scissors?!?!?!

A New Trick!

Kaiden learned a new trick today.....opening the screen door from our bedroom to the deck. I couldn't believe it when I heard the screen open. When I rounded the corner to 'bust him', he was smelling the mums I had just put out.....now how could I possibly get mad?!?!?! He was so proud of himself too. Thank goodness my dad talked us in to spacing the railing so closely, at least I know he can't fall over!!!

Brother-OR-Sister?

I always ask Kaiden the same question.....'Kaiden, do you want mommy and daddy to have another baby', as if magically he could give a response that could make my mind up whether or not to have another baby. Problem is, he never answers the same...mostly he says 'NO', but occasionally I will get a smile and a 'yes'. Then I always say 'do you want a brother or a sister'. He usually then replies 'sis', but today when I asked him he replied 'brother (long pause) Remmy!!!!!'. It was then that I realized he has no idea what I'm asking him, but he does know one thing....he loves his brother Rem!

Lights, Camera, SITEWORK!

Last week Kenny mentioned that he would like to tear up the yard around the house and retaining wall to build a 'flower garden'. I quickly dismissed it as something he was wanting to do but would never get around to doing.

This afternoon I looked outside to see that my grass was bright orange! So.....he was either trying to blend the grass into the mums I just bought, or he was really serious about doing this flower garden!

Looks like sitework is on the schedule for this week....and....this wasn't even one of the things on his 'honey to-do list'!!!

Mums, Pumpkins & Gourds - Oh My!

Today I decided it was time to decorate for fall. Typically I go out by myself to do this....partly because I'm so picky, and partly because it takes me forever to make my selections. (Trust me when I say I could analyze 50 gourds before I found the 'perfect one'!) But this year, we all decided to go, and I decided that I would let Kaiden do all the picking. He wasn't quite as choosy as I would've been....nope that little guy picked the first ones he could reach! None-the-less, it was fun, and the decorations turned out just fine!

Today Kaiden wanted to help me clean up. He loves using the swiffer wet jet....well, okay, he loves pressing the button which squirts the liquid.....all the same to me though - I'll take the help whenever I can get it!
