First Floor Framing . . .

Today when I got home from the kids' field day, our garage started to look like a garage.  First floor framing is done.  I'm excited to see what they'll accomplish tomorrow!

Playing with Pictures...

I was playing with photos this weekend, and I love how this one turned out.  I think I did a pretty good job of hiding her 'devil horns', don't you?!!?!?  Ha ha.

Backfilling . . .

The excavator was on site today to do the backfilling.  They also delivered all the lumber, windows and door today.  Tomorrow they're starting framing!

Block work went in on Friday for the garage.  Next step - backfilling and framing!

Friday Fishing . . .

On Friday I took the kids fishing.  Well...Kiersen wasn't too interested in the fishing - just Kaiden, but she enjoyed getting outside just the same.  Kaiden only caught two fish - a sunny and a bass, but he didn't care.  He's a mini-Kenny, and loves anything to do with the outdoors.

Kiersen's Kindergarten Program . . .

Tonight Kiersen had her Kindergarten Program at school.  She was so excited she went to bed early last night so she could be rested up for her 'performance'.  It's hard to believe she'll almost officially be a first grader!

Rain Messes Up the Footers!

It's a little hard to tell from these pictures, but it rained the entire day and our footers along our back wall are completely covered in dirt.  I looked like an avalanche.  Block was supposed to start tomorrow, but I'm guessing it will be a full days worth of work to remove all the fill from on top of the footers.

We Have Footers!

Today the contractor poured the garage footers.  Tomorrow there won't be any progress because no one will be on site, but Friday they are going to start laying the block.

After 7 loads of fill, we have a site pad.  Footers tomorrow!

Well, after years of wanting a garage, today that dream is underway.  Trailside Contractors came this morning and got the job started.  Since I have a hard time visualizing things, I was super excited to see the garage lined out.  It's starting to feel 'real'.  

Nikka's Sweet Sixteen Party . . .

My niece, Nikka, turned 16 in April, but her party was this weekend.  I still can't believe she's sixteen already!  Happy Birthday!!!
