Christmas Cookies...

Today Kaiden and I baked a few Christmas cookies.....goggles and all!

Ya know....some days are filled with dog hair (even though I've already swept 4 times in one morning).....they're also filled with the sounds of Kaiden yelling 'uh-oh....mommy I spilled something'...but at the end of the day, how could life possibly get any better than this...dog hair, juice spills and all!

Letters to Santa....

This weekend I bought Kaiden a cute little book about writing letters to Santa. Tonight after I read it to him, he decided to write a letter of his own. Now I know it's a little hard to read, but I can assure you that the letter said something like this:

Dear Santa:

I've been good....really, really, really good. I want a 4-wheeler to drag out daddy's big deer from the woods....and a helmet to protect my ears....and one for my baby sister when she grows bigger. Give the card to baby Jesus for his birthday - I don't need that.

He insisted on putting a cookie with the letter by the fireplace (because after all, Santa loves cookies). I'm not sure if the cookie will make it to Santa though....Remmy's been eyeing it up!

Thanksgiving Snow...

This morning we woke up to flurries which turned into a full blown snow for about an hour or so. Just enough to get Kaiden and Remmy excited, and us ready for the upcoming holiday season!

A Shower for Sophia....

My cousin, (Chris) and his wife (Alexis) are expecting their first baby (Sophia) just four days after Christmas. On Sunday we had a shower for them. They're going to make great parents....Alexis is excited about shopping for clothes, and Chris just wants to play with all the toys! Congrats Chris & Alexis!

Stringing Up The Lights...

I'm a little behind on my posts...partly because I got a new camera, and partly because life has been a little crazy lately. We set up our tree early this year....the first weekend in November. Kaiden had loads of fun, but trust me when I say I had my share of tangled lights!!!

Pink....and lots of it!

Today I got my first shipment of pink clothes in the mail.....I'm officially excited about having a girl now! Kaiden's excited too....he was oohing and awhhing over ever piece I pulled out of the bag. He even had to lift up my shirt and 'try the clothes on the baby' to make sure they'd fit. Too cute. He's going to make a good big brother!

Today was my 20 week exam. Much to my surprise, I also had an ultrasound. Because I didn't know I was having one today, Kenny didn't go along to the appointment. I wanted to find out if the baby was a girl or a boy so badly, but told the technician that I didn't want to know before Kenny. She was nice enough to take some pictures (while I had my eyes closed), and seal them in an envelope so that Kenny and I could open them together when I got home. Inside the envelope were four pictures of..... a healthy, little baby girl. I can't wait to meet her.

This morning Kenny shot a nice 8 point buck. What a beautiful deer! He was obviously in rut because his neck was really swollen up. Kaiden was pretty excited when he saw it, but I think this time daddy was equally as excited! And mommy and Remmy....we're just looking forward to eating some nice, fresh tenderloin and getting that boy up on the wall!
