My Name is: KLIDE

Kaiden wanted to write the elf's name, but Kiersen also wanted to help!

This morning the kids woke up to discover that, while they were sleeping last night, Santa had delivered to them an 'Elf on the Shelf'.  They were SO excited and Kaiden hasn't stopped carrying it around since the box was opened.  They named him Clyde, but wanted to spell it with a 'K' like their names, so our brand new elf's name is Klide.  The magic starts tonight, so Kaiden will no longer be allowed to touch him, but we're all looking forward to finding him in the morning.  Kaiden thinks he's going to hide in tricky places, since he can tell he's a 'bit of a tricky elf'.  We'll see :)

Halloween 2013!

Cooper the Dinosaur...or maybe an alligator...not sure but he sure was cute!

Kaiden, Cooper & Kiersen

Better late than never, right?  I've been meaning to get these photos posted, but cannot seem to find the time.  This year Kaiden was a bat and Kiersen was a turkey.  We don't really go full-blown trick-or-treating, but we did get out to the neighbor's house and also to Grandma & Paw Paw's house.

Watch Out Kindergarten - Here He Comes!!!

Mommy - is it Here Yet?!!?!?

Here it Comes!  One Day Down!

My Kindergartener!!!

Yesterday was Kaiden's first day of Kindergarten.  He was so excited to go.  Kiersen, however, was not excited....when she realized that Kaiden got on the bus to go she started crying - I guess for her having him there at Preschool with her was comforting.  Kaiden looked tired when he got off the bus, and told me that they only got to be at recess 'for 13 seconds', that he 'didn't understand why they didn't get to play with all the toys that were in the classroom' and that he 'has a new best friend but didn't know his name yet because they hadn't traded that with each other yet'.  All in all, I think everything went pretty smoothly.  He was excited to go again today and says he can't wait to get his first homework assignment (something tells me he won't be excited about homework for long)!

Daddy's Day...

This morning the kids were excited for daddy's 'surprise' for Father's Day.  Typically they're up around 7:00 a.m. (sometimes even sooner), but this morning they waited until I came to get them at 8:00 because daddy told them he wanted to sleep in.  They had picked out a card and gifts for him (complete with a 'bone collector' keychain), and wanted to make him pancakes for breakfast.  I took the quick way out and we bought the 'shake' pancakes and I let each of the kids take a turn 'mixing' it up.  They even cut the pancakes out in the shape of hearts. They were so excited for Kenny to wake up and see everything.

Pine Grove Carnival 2013

This is one of the 'big' rides Kaiden went on...they went all the way around in a circle.

Look out everyone!

Yesterday we went to the Pine Grove Carnival.  The weather was wonderful and we all had a nice time.  My brother, Gary, and his wife Mardelle were there with Cooper, and Kaiden met up with a boy he goes to school with.  It was funny this year because Kaiden wasn't quite as interested in the 'small' rides and wanted to go on all the 'bigger' ones....guess he really is growing up.

Class of 2013

What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up Kaiden?

Kaiden & Riley - Best Buddies

Tonight Kaiden graduated from Preschool.  They were all so cute in their caps and gowns!  Near the end of the ceremony each of the kids had to stand up, say their names and tell everyone what they want to be when they grow up.  Most of the little girls dreamed of being princesses and the boys wanted to be rock stars, but when Kaiden got up my heart melted when he said....

'My name is Kaiden Tyler....when I grow up I want to be like my daddy - a plumber'.  His answer absoluately melted my heart, and although Kenny won't necessarily admit it, I think Kaiden's answer made him pretty happy.  I caught him brining it up several times tonight :)

One chapter closed....watch out Kindergarden!
