Trash Clean Up . . .

Kade loves to go fishing at the canal, and Kiersen and I often tag along with him.  Kiersen was so upset about the trash laying around so she decided to do something about.  Her and I spent an entire morning cleaning up the lake.  I love that she chose to make a difference.

Hot Saturday Morning Fishing . . .

Most days I'm very patient while Kaiden fishes, but today I struggled a bit.  It was the morning, but it was SO hot at the lake.  The fish weren't biting either, which made it that much harder to be patient.  He only got two bass (shown here) and one sunny fish.  He didn't care how hot it got though, he would stay all day if I let him.....after all, there are still more fish to catch in that lake!

Painting Bird Houses . . .

Painting bird houses is something we love to do on summer break.  This year we decided to make the houses our very first craft.  Today they had a chance to dry, and hopefully tomorrow we will be able to spray them with some clear coat and put them outside for the birds to enjoy.

Mud Painting Ants & Letter A's...

This summer I decided to do theme weeks with the kids.  I'm super excited about it, and I've put a lot of time into coming up with crafts, music, learning, trips and fun activities for them (my hats off to all the teachers out there...this type of planning takes time).  Because this is a short week we're not focusing on any particular theme, but I decided to still incorporate a letter of the day and a craft.  Today's letter was "A" and their craft was mud painting.  This turned out to be a lot less messy than I anticipated and the kids mixed and stirred the mud and painted with it for about an hour.

Getting Ready for Swim Season...

If Kiersen likes the pool as much as she likes her new ladybug floaty, summer will be lots of fun!  The kids spent over an hour on Friday night playing in these....Kaiden was even giving her rides around the house.
