Kade's 2022 Buck . . .

In November Kade shot an 8 point buck.  He had a very good archery season this year.  This is his biggest buck so far.

 Archery hunting is Kenny & Kaiden's favorite time of the year.  This is Kade's doe he shot this season.  

At It Again . . .

He's always hunting something!  This time it was a squirrel.  And....he doesn't often miss!

Hunting . . . Kaiden Style

Every day for the last month or so Kaiden and Kiersen get all dressed up and play 'hunting'.  I find their stuffed animals all around the house because they've been 'shot'.  I didn't get a picture of Kiersen this morning, but she typically dresses up in her princess gear to go hunting.  It's so funny!

Guess who got a turkey this morning?  Last year he shot a jake, but this year he got his first gobbler. He was all smiles!  Unfortunately for some reason the beard was all broken and not as thick as it would've been, but he didn't seem to care.  My little hunter boy!

Oh No Not Another One!!!!

This morning Kiersen showed her first interest in hunting when she asked daddy if he has a gun for her too.  Of course daddy does....he's been dreaming of giving it to her since she was born!!!  When I told her little girls don't hunt, they stay home and bake cupcakes and paint their nails she responded by jumping up and down and saying 'daddy....I wanna shoot a big buck'.  I guess time will tell, but I think she may be following in Daddy and Kaiden's footsteps!  Good thing for me she still  has a while until she can hold up that big gun...SO...there's still hope for the girl team (you know...the girl team that stays home and bakes cupcakes and paints their nails)!!!

Kaiden's First Turkey!

Kaiden woke up Friday morning and all he wanted to do was talk about turkey hunting.  He told me how excited he was to go out on Saturday, and assured me that even though we haven't been seeing turkey this year, that his daddy would be able to call one in for him.  I asked him if he knew where he needed to shoot the turkey, and he confidently answered.  Last night he must've told me about 17 times to make sure daddy woke him up.  This morning when the alarm clock went off at 4:30 he jumped right out of bed and was ready to go.  By 7:00, he was already standing by my bedside excitedly announcing that he shot his first turkey.  He was so excited, and seeing the look on his face this morning was priceless.  He's hooked now - a full blooded hunter this boy will be for sure!  We ate his turkey tonight for dinner and he was beaming from ear to ear.
