Fishing - March, April, May . . .

Kade loves fishing, and I love taking him fishing.  I am especially enjoying catfishing with him this year.  Kiersen has gone fishing with us twice this spring - the first time she lasted about 10 minutes and hadn't caught anything so she was done, and the second time (catfishing), she wasn't interested and ended up going to sleep on her chair.  Kade has two big fishing trips that he's looking forward to this year - the Outer Banks with Uncle Kevvers and the Buttonwood trip with his friend Riley.  Something tells me it's going to be a fishing kind of summer (oh wait . . . isn't it always a fishing kind of summer . . . ha ha).

Rusted Gate Farm - Team Trip . . .

Kiersen and her team took a trip to Rusted Gate Farms.  Most of the girls were excited to pet and hold the goats, but not Kiersen, she went straight for the chickens!  She was in her element for sure!

Easter 2023 . . .

This year Easter was a little different because the kids picked out their Easter presents (they're getting older).  It wasn't quite as exciting for me.  Kaiden also didn't have an interest in hunting eggs, so he helped hide them with Kenny.  RJ - well, as typical, he just wanted to chew on sticks!

Gymnastics 2023 - Level 7 . . .

This picture may seem out of place, but this little hamburger traveled with her to every meet this year.  Her good luck charm which she named 'Hammy GB'

Kiersen started at a new gym in June.  She now attends ASAP Gymnastics.  It's been a very rough year for her.   She had a great summer and learned a bunch of new skills, but in October she developed a mental block which has been very frustrating.  She lost a lot of the skills she's had since she was 5/6 years old and her self confidence suffered for most of the year.  There have been lots of tears (from both her and from me) this year, but there have also been a lot of smiles.  She's made a ton of new friends who have been amazing teammates, and she's even met a boy (here 'gym crush') who has been so supportive of her.  We're not sure what next year will bring - most likely a new sport - but we're excited to see what the future holds.
