Fishing - March, April, May . . .

Kade loves fishing, and I love taking him fishing.  I am especially enjoying catfishing with him this year.  Kiersen has gone fishing with us twice this spring - the first time she lasted about 10 minutes and hadn't caught anything so she was done, and the second time (catfishing), she wasn't interested and ended up going to sleep on her chair.  Kade has two big fishing trips that he's looking forward to this year - the Outer Banks with Uncle Kevvers and the Buttonwood trip with his friend Riley.  Something tells me it's going to be a fishing kind of summer (oh wait . . . isn't it always a fishing kind of summer . . . ha ha).

Catfish Tournament 2022 . . .

In July Kaiden entered his first catfish tournament.  I stayed out with him the first night, and Kenny stayed out with him the second night.  He loved it and caught a bunch of catfish.  I'm sure we'll be doing it next year too!

Kaiden's (Almost 30") Catfish . . .

Kade and I love to go catfish fishing.  In late October it starts to get pretty cold in the evenings, but on this night, we were so excited about his catch that we weren't cold at all!  His biggest catfish yet - almost 30"!  Can't wait until next year, because now it's really too cold to go.

Kaiden's First (Big) Catfish!

On Monday Kaiden and I went fishing and he hooked a big catfish on his rod.  His rod only had 4 pound test on it.  He fought with it for a while, but the fish won and snapped his line.  He was so excited and then so bummed out.  He was determined to come back the next day with a different set up and try again.  Guess what - he got one!  I've done a lot of fishing with him, but I've never seen him get this excited over a fish.  You would swear that he won the lottery!  He's no longer satisfied with fishing for sunny fish.  I have a feeling more 'fat cats' are going to be caught in the near future.
