4th of July Cupcakes & Sanitizer

Today the kids and I had a blast making cupcakes for the 4th of July party we're attending tonight.  I also made some sanitizer....because after all, you have to have clean hands to eat cupcakes :)

Poor Man's Pool....

It is HOT!  The kids love being outside, but we haven't gotten around to getting a little pool for them, so today Kenny improvised!  The kids didn't care that it was a storage bucket at all...in fact, they had a blast!  Just goes to show you that things do not have to be expensive to be great!

Girly Bag!

I got my shipment of Thirty-One goodies tonight, and my favorite one is the bag I bought for Kiersen and I which I had embroidered 'Mommy & Me'.  It's perfect for all her little hair ties and for our nail polishes!  Kiersen had so much fun tonight taking everything out and putting it back in over and over and over.  We might need to upgrade to a bigger bag in a few years though...since I've started painting her toenails, I've gotten quite a collection of colors.  (After all....a sassy girl needs to make sure her toenails match her outfits....Kim - does that remind you of our college days?!!?!?!)

Let's Make a Fort!

When things get kinda quiet in the house, it usually means the kids are up to 'no good'.  Not this time!  This time Kaiden decided that he wanted to build a 'fort for sissy' under my computer desk.  I tried to make it special by helping them keep the blankets up, but honestly, it's nothing like the forts my brothers used to build growing up!  Maybe next time we'll have to call up Uncle Rick, Uncle Gary & Uncle Steve for assistance!



I Can See You In There....

This poor, poor little toad...I swear I heard him screaming 'let me off of this ride!'  Kiersen is like a mini-Kaiden these days....she just loves all the little critters he catches and fusses till we let her get a closer look!

D-A-N-C-I-N'

Kiersen LOVES to dance....we always catch her dancing around the house...she dances when she's happy, when she gets a snack she loves, when she's outside playing in the yard, or just whenever she feels like 'getting down'.  She especially loves dancing with her 'brub-brub'.  On this particular morning they were dancing to some of mommy's Christmas music (yep - already playing it).  She's so adorable....can't wait until she's old enough to get into dance classes!

Turtle (Super Sized)!

Last weekend Kenny found this huge snapping turtle in our driveway!  Kinda strange to see one of these guys in the middle of the mountains!  Thank goodness we found him and not Kaiden....I could've seen him trying to get this guy in his critter cage.  Hopefully it's the last time we'll see one of these...

2012 Pine Grove Carnival...

  

Last weekend we took the kids to the Pine Grove Carnival.  The weather was perfect.  Although there weren't a lot of rides Kiersen could get on yet, we still had a very nice time watching Kaiden.  He seemed to enjoy the games more than the rides tough, and we ended up taking home a sword, a stuffed snake and a gold fish. 

One HOT Picnic...

The other weekend when it felt like it was 100+ degrees, Kaiden insisted that he wanted to have a picnic in his tent on the deck.  Although I warned him about the heat, he just didn't care...he even want a fuzzy blanket to lay on (silly kid).  Notice too, that his critter cage friend is also enjoying the hot picnic!  He's such an outdoor boy!

Mommy's Lil' Helper . . .

Kiersen loves to help me with the laundry (now....if only I was that excited about it).  She practically crawls inside the washer to get out the clean clothes and transfer them into the dryer.  I love the first photo, because she's always making this face, and in the last photo, I really think she looks like my mom!  Thank goodness for my lil' laundry girl.

Our Lil' Garbage Disposal...

Well....she's not like her brother....she'll eat anything you put in front of her, especially if it's ice cream!

Kaiden's GIRLFRIEND!!!!!

Today I had a conversation with Kaiden...it went something like this:

Me:
Kaiden let's finalize your party list - who would you like to invite from preschool?

Kaiden:
Definately Riley

Me:
Okay, who else?

Kaiden:
Well....we have to invite Jocelyn for sure

Me:
I've never heard you talk about Jocelyn before, are you sure you want to invite her?

Kaiden:
Definately....she's Riley's girlfriend and he'll need her to be there.

Me:
Girlfriend? Riley has a girlfriend?!!?! No!??!?!?

Kaiden:

Yes....they try to kiss sometimes too

Me:
Kaiden....you don't have a girlfriend do you?

Kaiden:
No.....(after a long pause)....well, actually I do!

Me:
What?!!!?!?

Kaiden:

It's you mommy....you're my favorite girlfriend and sometimes we do kiss!

Critter of the Day!

I'm really glad I cleaned out my bathtub this weekend....after all, I wouldn't want it to be dirty for our critter of the day....'Swimmy'.  Kaiden is SO into catching critters right now....I can never tell what he'll bring me in his cage from day to day....sometimes it's a frog, other times it's a toad, on this occasion it was a lizard from our pond, and on very rare occasions he (tries) to bring me a snake!  When I get up for work in the morning I always find his critter cage on the bathroom sink....perfect company for me while I'm doing my makeup! 

I don't think it will be long until Kiersen will want to catch critters of her own...as you can see, she's very interested in brother's 'treasures'.
